$20 Target Gift Card Giveaway - 1,000 Blog Posts!

TreasureHunt2-AHeartOnYourPath3
I took this photo last year for the Superhero photography class I was in... I had to photograph a 'heart on a path' for a treasure hunt exercise. This photo is a perfect reflection of how I feel since boarding the blogging train that has brought me to my 1,000 blog post! Sometimes I wonder how many hours, days, weeks(?!!) I have spent in my life blogging. I wonder at times if my time would be better used elsewhere... but, for now... blogging makes me happy and that is what is important to me.

I started blogging after Autumn was born to have a way to share my photos and stories of my life as a mother with my family and friends. My blog is so valuable to me in that I have made friends with other bloggers and Moms, I have had a way to share my hobbies and interests, to vent when I need to and to have an online photo album that I can go back on to reflect on any given day from the past 4 years. This blog has gone through many times. My maternity leave with Autumn, many crafts and recipes, both kids starting school, beach and mountain vacations with the kids, my love for running, photography classes, a terrible divorce, a trip to Paris with a proposal, a new marriage, everything the kids are involved in...

I feel my life is so busy and my blog is a way for me to organize my life... to keep track of the millions of things going on in one simple place. I have so much pleasure looking back to see what we did last February, or two or even three February's ago. So, to celebrate this busy ride I have decided I wanted to do something fun for those that do read my blog... because, I appreciate my readers! I have always wanted to do a giveaway and I thought 1,000 posts is worth celebrating! So...

As a way to celebrate 1,000 blog posts I am going to give away a $20 Target gift card to one lucky reader of my blog!

Just answer either one or both of these questions (each one is worth 1 entry!).

1. What is the ONE great thing you think you were meant to accomplish in your life?

2. What has been your favorite part of my blog? A theme, a specific post... you tell me.

Prize will be one $20 Target gift card. I will draw the lucky winner on February 21st, 2013 and the winner must respond back within two days after the drawing to receive the gift card. Only two entries per person.

Congratulations on 1000 blog posts! That's a lot of words and pictures!

1. Oh my goodness, this question is hard. I think that I was meant to accomplish a peaceful, creative, beautiful, happy home for my family.

HI
1. I do not think I have met the thing I was to accomplish. I do not know. I have had some hardships and overcome them with the help of my family and friends but I am not really sure. Perhaps it is to be the wife that I am to my husband and the daughter that I am to my parents and the sister I am to my siblings.

Love your blog!

1. I was meant to be in child care & own/run my own licensed home child care. I was a nanny forever & wanted to work for me.

2. I love all the pics you post. Especially seeing all the clothes my Sam used to wear. I loved the Paris trip as I've been there. Many happy memories.

Congratulations! I love reading your blog.
My answer to question #1 is:
I think I was meant to be a Mother. I grew up being the oldest of seven so I feel like I have always had that Motherly instinct.

My answer to question #2 is: The food posts. I love how you post the steps of a recipe and pictures. I also love looking at all the pictures and reading about you and your family. I don't get to see you much so its my way for keeping up.

Congrats on 1,000!

1. Tough question. I don't know that there's ONE great thing I was meant to accomplish. I think I was meant to comfort people, encourage people, and to help people find what they're looking for. If I do anything of those things, at least once, I think that's a pretty good thing. :-)

2. My favorite part of your blog is your unending positivity. You always project contentment, even when things have been really tough for you. You are a very positive person and I think it draws people to you. :-)

1. I think my purpose in life is to be the giver of 2nd chances. I find myself saying at least once a day usually to a student to take a breath and start telling me something again.

I think we as a society are too quick to judge when we think that someone doesn't have it together on how we can fix them. I think perfection is an overrated and unattainable possibility.

I have tried in my own life to not live by someone else's standards and I want to project to others that be human, be humble, be yourself.

I love all the crafting things you do with your kids. Just today I am looking at your Valentines and thinking wow, where did you have time to pull this off.

Answer: You made the time because I think you get as much enjoyment out of creativity as your kids.

1. I never used to think this before I had kids but now that I have them it's being a mom!!

2. My favorite part of your blog is how you do so many fun things with the kids (crafts, activities, etc). I have gotten several ideas from you so thank you!!

I think I was meant to make people happy - which I did for many years as a travel agent. Helping make their dreams come true. Love every second!

Yay, on 1000 posts!

Boy, I really can't think of what I was meant to accomplish. So far, I have not accomplished much, if anything. I don't think I will accomplish anything, really, or meant to.
